A Ghost in the Basement

A story for your little kids.

 Ali went down the stairs into the basement. He was about to put on the light when something moved in the corner. Ali rushed back the stairs.

“There’s a ghost in the basement,” he told his brother Kassim.

            Kassim threw back his head and laughed hard. He followed Ali into the basement. Kassim was about to switch on the light when the ghost moved again in the corner. The boys dashed  up the stairs.

“There’s a ghost in the basement,” they told Mommy.

            Mommy laughed ‘till tears came into her eyes. She followed them into the basement.

Mommy was about to turn on the light when the ghost moved again in the corner.

“Hold on a second,” she said as the boys made for the stairs.

            She put on the light.

            A linen was flapping in the corner.
